About the World Humanist Congress
Coming together from across the globe, united in common purpose.
The World Humanist Congress is a triennial event that brings together representatives from the global humanist, atheist, and secular community to learn from one another and work toward addressing the most pressing issues of our time.
In 2026, American Atheists is proud to partner with Humanists International to host the World Humanist Congress and Humanists International General Assembly in our nation’s capital.
During its four-day program, the 2026 World Humanist Congress will address the threat of religious nationalism, deepen the bonds of community shared by members of our global humanist family, and promote understanding of atheists, humanists, and other nonreligious people across all nations.
We will collaborate with partners in the global human rights movement, including advocates for gender equality, LGBTQ issues, climate change, and more. We will welcome elected officials, business and civic leaders, artists, scholars, and on-the-ground activists and organizers to lend their expertise to these discussions.
